What Is a Financial Coach?
A financial coach is someone who will help you understand the basics of personal or business finance and help you develop and maintain healthy financial habits. Our main job is to empower you our clients to reach your financial goals and learn how to handle your finances responsibly. We typically work with clients who want to save money, create a budget, pay off debt, or just improve their financial outlook. Financial coaches tend to focus on fundamental financial needs and usually take a more personal, hands-on approach to working with clients. In the beginning, you’ll lay out your financial goals and work together as a team to create a plan that helps you meet them.
A Financial Coach can have a positive impact on your financial well–being and your life in several ways:
- Focuses on improving short-term and long-term financial goals;
- Facilitates clients to set and achieve financial programs; and
- Helps clients practice new behaviors and monitors those behaviors over time.
Goals of Financial Coaching:
- Achieve client-defined goals
- Address immediate issues
- Support specific actions to meet goals
- Improve financial situations
- Change financial behaviors
- Facilitate decision-making
- Provide tools, resources, and referrals
